| qâla lahû wâliduhu |

| ishtaraytu fâkihatan |

| qâla ahmadu li-wâlidihi |

| qâla: urîdu al-funduqa |

| ayya makânin turîdu ? |
|
|
|
|
| When he got in, the driver asked him: |
| wa-rakiba fa-sa’alahu as-sâ’iqu |
|
|
|
|
| The driver said: And Why? |
| qâla a-sâ’iqu: walimâdha? |
|
|
|
|
| The man said: Al-Jawhara Hotel |
| qâa: funduq al-jawharati |
|
|
|
|
| He said: Which one of the hotels? |
| qâla: ayyu al-fanâdiqi? |
|
|
|
|
| In fact it is a Islamic hotel |
| innahu funduqun islâmiyyun |
|
|
|
|
| The traveler said: I know |
| qâla al-musâfiru: adri |
|
|
|
|
| It is not big |
| innhu laysa kabîran |
|
|
|
|
| May Allah bless you for it |
| jazâka Allâhu khayran |
|
|
|
|
| And all people know it |
| wa-kullu annâsi ya‘rifûnahu |
|
|
|
|
| True, we know it |
| sahîhun hâdha na‘rifuhu |
|
|
|
|
| In comfort and quietude |
| fî râhatin wa hudû’in |
|
|
|
|
| And stayed in it for a few days |
| wa-aqâma bihâ ayyâman |
|
|
|
|
| And he reached the hotel |
| wa-wasala ila al-funduqi |
